Fulbright Alumna (2004), Dr. Åsa Andersson,  was nominated to represent Sweden at the first annual conference for European Alumni Association leaders in Rome, Italy on December 1-2, 2011 as part of the European Network for American Alumni Association (ENAM) . ELAM is a new and independent organization, accredited and an active NGO committed to promoting mutual understanding and better transatlantic relationships. Dr. John Freyer, 2011 Visiting Scholar's research project on the Billy Bookshelf was posted on IKEA Hackers website.

Dr. Abdul-Majeed Azad, 2010 Fulbright Distinguished Chair at Chalmers Institute of Technology recently published an article for the University of Toledeo's online newsletter on Prime Minister Olof Palme's assisination.

Ms. Isra El-Salihie and Mr. Hezha Seradji were selected to represent Sweden at two US Institutes for a five weeks this summer.  The Summer Institutes Program is sponsored by the US Department of State's, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Per Liljas, current Swedish Fulbright grantee has just been awarded the Minority Voices Young Journalist Award for 2010 for an article and photo story on Rohingya who are refugees in Bangladesh, but originally come from Burma where they belong to a Muslim minority. Please read the Award Announcement by Minority Rights Group Internationa.

January 2011: The First Annual US Summer Institutes Alumni Conference was held in Paris.  Two alumni from Sweden were selected to attend, Ms. Elnaz Barjandi (2008) and Fatime Nedzipovska (2009).

Dr. Åsa Andersson, Swedish Fulbright alumna was interviewed in Metro's online AllaStudier.se discussing her Fulbright study abroad experience at UC Berkeley where she earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy.

Chalmers University of Technology recognized two 2010 Fulbright Scholars in Energy Technologies in their monthly online newsletter: Lin Louie, 2010 Graduate Student and Abdul-Majeed Azad, 2010 Distinguished Chair.

2010-11 American Fulbrighters, Anna Hersey and Andrew Bearnot's, research in Sweden was also made possible by the generous support of the Lois Roth Endowment.

Matthew Peterson, American Fulbrighter (2008-09) will be returning to Sweden to teach music at the Gotlandtonsättarskola.
