The Fulbright Intercountry Lecture Program

For the U.S. Fulbright Scholar:
The Fulbright Intercountry Lecture Program provides U.S. scholars in Europe with opportunities to enrich their professional and cultural experience outside their country of assignment.

For European educational institutions:
This program gives educational institutions an opportunity to request a visit from a Fulbright Scholar based in another country.

⚬ The Fulbright commission in the country that has extended the invitation to the scholar covers travel costs for the scholar.
⚬ The scholar keeps Fulbright insurance coverage for the duration of the stay.
⚬ The institution that is hosting the scholar’s visit is asked to cover living costs/housing for the duration of the stay.

Participating Countries:
19 bi-national European Fulbright commissions participate in the program: Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the UK. Please note that grant openings may vary from country to country. For U.S. Fulbright scholars based in European countries other than those listed above, please contact the Swedish Fulbright Commission at fulbright@fulbright.se about possibilities of support.
